Episode 179: Philosophical Zombies [Planescape: Torment]

Necromancers get all the cool toys: automatic corpses, snarky skulls, cool cloaks.  Therefore, you should show them what's up by talking your way around having to deal with them directly!  Hitting them with your big metal stick is also an option, but that's way less interesting.  Step into the world(s) of Planescape and try to recover your lost soul!

When you download, you just wake up in the mausoleum again.

Episode 178: Miracle Balls [Alex Kidd: The Lost Stars]

In somewhat ironic tribute to itself, this series may be its own lost star.  Join us in wandering a variety of planes, magical worlds, and space New York in order to rescue the constellations of the zodiac from their fates inside of mundane objects!  Dodge monorail trains and fierce lightning while trying to guess what the next enemy with the exact same design does differently from the previous one.  Miracles!

LTOVG and the lost downloads!

Show Notes

(02:00) I thought Geodude were nearly as common as Zubat, but I was very wrong.  Also, Samson vs. Samuel Oak.

(04:30) Plot power! Legit question: Why is beast-warrior a monster type?  Birbs!

(17:30) Conan's god.

(37:00) I got distracted by the cool car.

(45:30) Fan mail!  Hi, Ryan!

(47:45) Over a year later, that jump glitch bounty is still open.

(50:00) The actual "game".

(1:03:30) Ranking among the stars!

(1:08:30) The stellar decision making you've come to enjoy.

Episode 177: Battleship, In Space! [Metal Marines]

Nothing says "thrilling mech warfare" like building a single, non-reusable launch pad for a mech, then mostly letting it sit there while you pepper your opponent with missiles.  That said, upgrading to a shiny golden form is definitely on the thrilling side of the spectrum, so it might balance out in the end.  Join us in our fight to stop a vague villainous threat from being menacing in our general direction, and see whether our AA screen is tight enough.

Missile straight to the download!

Show Notes

(07:30) I was trying to find a good video on Pokéball seals, but the first video was terrible, and the quality just got worse, so have a video about awful balls.

(14:30) It's a cooking fun time.

(18:00) Heroes of flame symbols.

(24:00) Orca looks much scarier than I had imagined.

(29:00) I love the swinginess of this game, but the art on some of these cards...

(32:30) Kado.

(40:00) No, no one wants to be your mommy.  Unlike poor Cubone, and its horrible fate revealed in the Sun entry.

(42:00) MARINES!  They do not get upgraded to level 2.
